Note that your PC must be on with Steam open for Steam Link to be available. Play from the couch at grandma’s house or from the beach on a remote desert island. I'm hoping we're moving towards an era where things like steam link are more accessible alternatives to console gaming, if SLA becomes a "thing" gamers will most likely consume more games on a daily basis which means more people giving indie games a try just for "something different" more often then even now, in the same vein that kindle readers consume more books than average readers. So long as you have a stable internet connection with your phone via wi-fi or cellular data, your Steam library is accessible anywhere. Idk about most but I know the end goal of my game being on TV is a huge deal and since dev kits for rpg maker games is excessively difficult this is a close second for me. If Steam games can stream to TVs more commonly we can play our creations right from the couch like a console game more consistently, especially since steam supports Xbox and Playstation controllers. Steam Link already makes steam only releases preferable over Google play/iOS counterparts since we can remote play to our phones and other mobile devices.Ģ. To me this is a huge opportunity coming up,ġ. It isnt out yet but if you you've used the current steam link you get the idea. SLA, as the name implies and is discussed in the link above is a bit more complex, as it allows players to play from any device anywhere that they are a doesnt need their gaming PC near by. For any who dont know and want the short of it, SLA and ML are simply software to stream from PC to all other devices.
